Cold Front Will Last A Couple of More Days
What happened to summer? The sunshine and hot weather of the last week in the Central Valley was overtaken by cold winds and rain, since Monday.

The weatherman says the change in weather is caused by a cold front that is coming down from Mexico and the United States, that has increased rain in certain parts of the country and lowered temperatures.

The extremen northern area of Guanacaste, the Llanuras de los Guatusos, San Carlos and Tortuguero in the Zona Norte are the areas most affected. Also the areas of Caribe Central and Norte like Barra del Colorado, Siquirres, Guácimo, Cariari, Puerto Viejo, Sarapiquí, Matina and the Central Valley are also affected.

According to the Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN) the rain and cold winds will continue today (Wednesday) and tomorrow. Normal seasonal temperatures should return by the weekend.

Traditionally December is a cold month. Sunshine and warm weather of the day is replaced by temperatures at night that can dip to the high teen Celsius (high 60's Fahrenheit). It is not uncommon to see people wearing overcoats at night in San José.
