Pineapple Export Increases
30%
The export of pineapple from
Costa Rica achieved a total
us$265 million in October. This
represents an increase of 30 %
compared to 2004 when the total
amount of the 10 first months
was us$203 million.
These numbers contrast with the
decrease of banana exports,
which diminished 13.4%. With
this, the position of pineapple
as second agricultural export
product is consolidated.
The sale of banana abroad
represented us$388.2 million
contrary to us$448.5 million of
the year before.
