Traffic Accident Deaths Down During Semana Santa
Semana Santa is a time for family and personal enjoyment, many heading out to the beaches and mountains. However, tragedy doesn't take a rest for the holidays, as a total of 31 deaths were recorded by the Cruz Roja Costarricense (Red Cross) as of Saturday.

88 Drunk Drivers Behind Bars This Semana Santa
The threat of a prison term and losing their vehicle was not enough for 88 drivers surprised by Policía de Tránsito during semana Santa for having too much to drink and then getting behind the wheel of their vehicle. According to Tránsito 5.600 tickets were issued during Semana Santa for all types of violations of the Ley de Tránsito.
