Scandal in Colombian Government

The scandal Colombian President Alvaro Uribe
is facing by illegal meetings with judges,
politicians, journalists and ex public
officials has cast a shadow over the
government, inside and outside of the
country.
The Colombian society is demanding truth on
all fronts around illegal acts and espionage
committed by the Department of
Administrative Security (DAS), an entity
directly subordinate to the President.
The scandal became bigger after the ex chief
of DAS Jorge Lagos confessed in several
meetings in (Nariño's House), the executive
headquarters, the keeping track of judges
movement.
In addition the radio station, FM, is said
to have evidence provided by ex officials of
the secret police that reveal that
candidates of previous presidential campaign
were constantly followed by intelligence
bodies.
The radio station also stressed the ex
technicians preferred to keep their
identities secret for the fear for their
lives, and abstained from providing recorded
declaration, commenting, "we don't want to
be murdered."
The sources, still working from underground,
state there was a group in charged of
illegal interceptions to which they were
members, and while their activities were
confidential, they received orders from the
DAS high command.
They also state that a large amount of media
equipments was also illegally intercepted,
noted the station.
A rapid punishment for those responsible of
the illegal interceptions was demanded by
the opposition Liberal Party to the
Colombian Attorney General.
