Caldera Highway Tolls On Hold
Good news for drivers of the San José -
Caldera, the tolls will not start tomorrow
(Saturday) as had been announced.
The Autopista del Sol, the concession holder
of the highway, had asked for permission to
start charging tolls, however, the Consejo
Nacional de Concesiones, has yet to conclude
its final evaluation of the project.
Once the evaluation is complete, the toll
booths on the road will began operating.
On the first phase of the highway, San Jose
to Santa Ana, the tolls are ¢310 colones at
Escazú and ¢160 colones at Santa Ana - each
way - for light vehicles. Buses and trucks
will pay more.
