Get ready for higher gasoline prices coming
our way next week, following yesterday's
approval for a price hike by the Autoridad
Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep).
A litre of super and regular gasoline prices
will increase ¢52 colones and ¢45 colones,
respectively, while the price of diesel fuel
will drop ¢20 colones a litre.
With the increa that is expected by mid next
week, the price of a litre of super gasoline
jumps to ¢487 from the current ¢435, regular
to ¢474 from ¢429 and diesel drops to ¢415
from the current ¢435.
The Aresep said the current changes in the
price of crude oil on international markets
warrants the increase requested by the state
refinery, Refinadora Costarricense de
Petróleo (RECOPE).
The new prices take effect one day following
the publication of the change in the
official government publication, La Gaceta,
