Panama - The mandate by
Panamanian President
Martin Torrijos faces in
2009 includes pending
issues of interest for
the population, among
them insecurity and the
high cost of living.
The executive announced
early this month that
one of the priorities in
the first half of the
year will be public
safety, because 2008
included 593 homicides.
A UNIMER study revealed
that 49.1 percent of
those surveyed early
this month said Torrijos'
mandate was termed very
bad, while 48.8 percent
termed his labor as good
or excellent.
The survey, which took
place in January 2-5,
includes a sample of
1,210 people, with a
margin of mistakes of
2.8 percent. |
