FMLN Leads Poll in San
Salvador
San Salvador - The
leftist FMLN (Farabundo
Marti National
Liberation Front) is
polling 5 points ahead
of the ARENA
(Nationalist Republican
Alliance) for upcoming
municipal elections in
San Salvador, the
country´s capital.
The poll, carried out by
La Prensa Grafica daily
gave FMLN a 32.3 percent
of the voting intention,
for 27.6 percent to
ARENA.
The paper recalls that
the difference between
both political groups is
almost identical to the
one registered a month
ago.
The survey was conducted
among 780 people, from
78 districts, colonies,
residential places and
communities of the
capital, between Dec.
27-28, 2008.
At national level, FMLN
has also been
consistently polling at
a 12-14 point advantage
for upcoming
legislative, municipal,
and presidential
elections. |
