Bolivian
President Visits Russia
Moscow - Bolivia President Evo Morales is arriving in Moscow on
Sunday on an official visit to Russia, following an invitation by
Russian President Dmitri Medvedev.
Morales is scheduled to hold official talks with Medvedev at
Kremlin. It is the first time in the history of bilateral relations
that a Bolivian president visits our country, a Russian government
source told Prensa Latina.
Morales and Medvedev met on Nov. 2008 at an ALBA summit in Caracas.
Bolivia is one of Russia´s prospective patners in the region, so
both countries are opening new perspectives in bilateral
cooperation, an official release says.
Moscow and La Paz share common positions on key international issues
and have expressed their wish to foster a positive exchange in terms
of new challenges and threats.
