Escazú Attacker Now Behind Bars
A man who stalked and assaulted only women in Escazú and only during
the day is now in the hands of police after being captured by
members of the Fuerza Pública.
The man identified only by his last name Flores is suspected of at
least 15 attacks on women in the area of San Antonio, Escazú.
The attacks began in December as the man attacked only women who
were on their way to or from work, walking alone. The man would
always get away in a small truck, according to some of the women who
related their stories to the police.
Several of the women who were attacked where neighbours and decided
to unite in their efforts to help police capture the man, pooling
their stories to give police an exact description of the man and his
manner of attack and escape.
Armed with the description, police spent several days combing the
streets of Escazú and finally spotted the man in the area of
Guachipelín.
