4 Hostages Released To Humanitarian Mission in Colombia

Bogota - Four militaries were released on Sunday by the Revolutionary Armed forces of Colombia (FARC) and delivered to a humanitarian mission in the south of Colombia, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said.

Colombian police officer Walter Lozano greets reporters upon his arrival at Villavicencio Feb. 1, 2009.

The ICRC representative, Ives Heller, said that the relatives of the hostages were let known of the release. The freed militaries will be taken to the airport of Vanguardia, in the city of Villavicencio, center of Colombia.

"As soon as the ICRC mission was told the names of the released people, ICRC contacted with their relatives," Heller said, "ICRC mission has gone to the city of Villavicencio where the four militaries will be delivered to their superiors."

The released are soldier William Dominguez and policemen Juan Galicia, Alexis Torres and Walter Lozano. FARC will release two politicians of Colombia in coming days.
