Presidential Summit
BRASILIA - The
presidents of Argentina,
Cristina Fernandez, and
Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula
da Silva, are meeting
Monday at the Brazilian
Planalto Palace, before
the probable signing of
important financial and
commercial agreements.
This second Presidential
Meeting of the
Brazil-Argentina
Integration and
Coordination Mechanism
begins with the report
on the fulfilment of
commitments agreed in
the first contact on
February 22, in Buenos
Aires.
Fernandez and Lula will
follow up the previous
deals to construct a
joint satellite and a
bilateral uranium
enrichment plant, and
study the construction
of a hydroelectric plant
and bridges over the
Uruguay River.
Similarly, they plan to
examine the fulfilment
of agreements for
railroad integration,
and cooperation in
defense and
bio-medicines, it was
revealed.
The creation of a fund
with resources from
Brazil's National
Economic and Social
Development Bank, and
Argentina's Nacion and
Investment and Foreign
Trade Banks will be a
new subject at this
second meeting. |
