Venezuela Asks PARLATINO
for Extradition
CARACAS - Thirty-two
years after the attack
in which 73 civilians
died, the US government
refused to extradite
Luis Posada Carriles, a
terrorist responsible
for the crime, the
Venezuelan group of the
Latin American
Parliament denounced on
Monday.
Carolus Wimmer, vice
president of the
Venezuelan group, said
that Venezuela keeps its
demand to extradite Luis
Posada Carriles, who
escaped from a
Venezuelan prison to
evade a trial for the
terrorist attack on a
Cuban civil plane in
1976.
The Venezuelan deputy
said the government of
George W. Bush not only
has refused to extradite
Posada Carriles, but it
has also protected
another notorious
criminal associated with
Posada, Orlando Bosch.
"We know that the
extradition will be
almost impossible while
Bush is in the White
House, because his
father was director of
the Central Intelligence
Agency when this
terrorist action was
committed," said Wimmer.
"Luis Posada Carriles,
Orlando Bosch and all
the criminals working
for the US intelligence
services should be taken
to trial and sentenced.
Peoples should not rest
in our request for
justice", concluded the
Venezuelan deputy. |
