Nicaragua to Expand Geothermal Energy
Nicaragua will expand geothermal energy production through an accord to enhance the current capacity of the San Jacinto Tizate Project.

Polaris Energy Nicaragua, S.A.(PENSA), subsidiary of Polaris Geothermal Inc. of Canada (PGI), said the Brazilian company Queiroz-Galvao will be in charge of the construction.

The expansion in motion with the first four wells operational, two for production and two for injection, will help extend renewable energy production from 10mW to 34mW.

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration will supply $77 million of the $96 million development.
