TACA Blames Pilot Error
As Cause of Honduras
Crash
The Central American
airline TACA has said
that human error was the
cause of the fatal crash
in Honduras that killed
five people.
The airline said that an
error by pilot Cesare
Dantonio was the cause
of the accident when the
plane crashed on May 20
while attempting a
landing at the Toncontin
airport in Honduras.
The airline's admission
came after the local
press in Honduras
publish a report on the
contents of the "black
box" of the fatal
aircraft, revealing that
airport control urged
the pilot to land at the
extreme north end of the
runway.
However, the pilot, who
died in the crash,
insisted to control
tower his landing
approach would be from
