Guatemalan VP Lauds
Cuban Advances
Guatemalan Vice
President Rafael Espada
on Sunday praised Cuba's
achievements in various
sectors, and called his
official visit fruitful.
In statements for Prensa
Latina shortly before
returning to his
country, Espada said
Cuba shows tangible
progress in public
health, especially in
rural medicine, and
rated the training of
Guatemalan students here
as perfect.
Referring to sports, the
official explained that
just like Cuba, his
government wants to
develop amateur sports,
and guarantee
recreational offers for
a healthy body and mind.
Espada also highlighted
the development of
tourism on the Island,
which contributes to
improve its
infrastructure and
professionalism in such
an important sector for
the economy.
The Guatemalan vice
president noted his
government wants to
reinforce bilateral ties
with Cuba, and foretold
promising results in
joint projects. |
