"66" Grand Prize Winner
66 was the big number last in the annual Christmas lottery, Gordo Navideño.

At 7pm members of the Junta de Protección Social (JPS) took the state in Alajuela to begin the draw for the prizes of the lottery with the biggest prize of the year.

Fireworks followed the draw of the winner number at 7:13pm that took place live in front of thousands and television cameras at the Parque Juan Santamaría.

The number 66 with series 299 is the main prize that pays out ¢580 million colones for an "entero" - a complete ticket - or ¢14.5 million colones for each one of the 40 "pedacitos" (pieces) that cost only ¢800 colones. The total winnings for last nights draw was ¢3.5 billion colones.

A consolation draw will be held on December 21 which will pay out ¢180 million colones for the first prize. Tickets for December 21 draw are already on sale.

First prize numbers: 66 / 299
Second prize numbers: 74 / 257
