Migración With Limited Services This Week
Although central government offices will be closed for the Christmas holidays on December 22, the Dirección General de Migración Extranjería (immigration service) will be taking a longer holiday.

According to information posted on their website, Migración, located in La Uruca, will beginning on Monday, December 15, the service will be offering only limited services, as it begins work on improving its electrical system.

The only services available during the week will be the: retrieval of passports, renewal of residency cedulas for those who have an appointment, retrieval of approved residency cedulas. All other services are suspended until the service re-opens from holidays.

All central government offices will work until closing of Friday, December 19, and re-open on Monday, January 5.

Autonomous state agencies like the Instittuto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), for example, will maintain their agencies, while the main offices will be closed.
