Debates Global Crisis
Montevideo - Agriculture
and cattle breeding
ministers from the
Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR)
will analyze in this
capital repercussions of
the global financial and
economic crisis in the
region, particularly on
those sectors.
Debates will take place
during the celebration
here December 4-5 of the
15th Ordinary Meeting of
the Southern
Agricultural Council (CAS),
the entity's executives
stated.
Argentina's Agriculture
and Cattle Breeding
Minister Carlos Alberto
Cheppi, Brazil's
Reinhold Stephanes,
Paraguay's Candido Vera
Bejarano, Uruguay's
Ernesto Agazzi,
Bolivia's Carlos Romero,
and Chile's Marigen
Hornkohl should attend
the meeting.
According to organizers,
the agenda includes the
analysis of the
international financial
crisis and its possible
impact in the
agriculture of the CAS
nation members, as well
as the situation of
fertilizers and
sustainable development
in the region.
Before the meeting,
there will be a forum
among directors of
Agricultural Policies
from Argentina, Brazil,
Paraguay, Uruguay,
Bolivia and Chile, who
will discuss the same
topics as ministers will
