Youth Group Asks Public
Support To Eradicate
Extreme Poverty
A group of young people
will be out on Friday
and Saturday asking for
public support of a
donation of "un rojo"
(1.000 colones) that
will be used to build
homes for the poor.
The activity is being
called "Un techo para mí
país” (a roof for my
country), a program that
began several months
back.
The voluntary group
built a tin shack in the
Plaza de la Cultura in
downtown San Jose to
point out the reality
thousands of families
live in Costa Rica.
Andrea Fernández,
director of the
organization said that
they have received
tremendous support from
businesses that has
helped them get the
campaign going.
Fernández made a call to
everyone to join the
movement and help their
work towards building a
country without extreme
poverty.
