Venezuela Praises ALBA
Cultural Fund
The Cultural Fund of the
Bolivarian Alternative
for the Americas (ALBA)
is today an instrument
for the necessary unity
of regional peoples,
Venezuelan Culture
Minister Francisco Sesto
asserted.
With a continental
dimension of culture,
Sesto praised the
importance of that
entity, founded on
February 3, 2006 by
Venezuelan and Cuban
Presidents Hugo Chavez
and Fidel Castro,
respectively.
The minister said that
such productions as
publishing, films, and
discs between both
nations have become a
reality, as well as
creation of the ALBA
houses.
He said those centers
were created as a
network at the service
of the cultural work in
Venezuela, Bolivia,
Nicaragua, Haiti, and
Cuba, with the necessary
infrastructure to have
them working in a year
and will expand through
the continent in
countries that join
ALBA, always with the
help and acceptance of
the respective
government and people.
The objective of the
houses is to integrate
all the Latin American
and Caribbean
intellectuals, artists,
and cultural and
creative movements in
joint work for the
peoples' unity, he said. |
