Arias Confirms He Will
Vote "Si"
Costa Rican president,
Óscar Arias Sánchez,
will be voting at the
Escuela Carlos Sanabria
Mora de Pavas at
10:30am, according to
information by the press
office of Casa
Presidencial.
Arias, a proponent of
the Tratado de Libre
Comercio (TLC), said he
will vote "Si" to the
trade deal that will
open Costa Rican goods
and services to some 300
million U.S. consumers.
The Casa Presidencial
press office said that
at 9:00am, a religious
ceremony will be
celebrated at the Arias
house in Rohrmoser that
will be attended by the
full cabinet.
At noon, Arias is
scheduled to have lunch
with the Secretary
General of the
Organization of American
States (OAS), José
Miguel Insulza and a
group of international
observes, who have been
in Costa Rica since
Thursday to monitor the
vote.
At around 7:00pm, Arias
will be home to wait the
results of the voting
and is expected to make
a statement once the
Tribunal Supremo de
Elecciones (TSE) had a
chance to tabule the
voting results and
report any clear
advantage of the vote.
