61 The Winning Number
For the first time in
its history, the Gordo
Navideño - the Christmas
lottery - draw was held
outside of San José, at
old metropolis of
Cartago.
And shorlty after
8:00pm, the balls to
announce the big prize
of ¢540 million colones
fell with number 61 and
series 598.
The Gordo ticket is sold
in its entirity or in
pieces. Each of the 40
pieces has a prize value
of ¢13.500.000 colones.
According to the Junta
de Protección Social de
San José, the five
emissions of the number
were sold in Sarchí,
Heredia, Patarrá and
Desamparados.
For those who did not
win anything in last
nights draw, not all is
lost. Two consolation
prizes will be held on
December 23 and December
30, where the grand
prize of ¢135 million
and ¢125 million will be
drawn.
The winning numbers for
the top three prizes
last night were: 598 61;
262 40; and 922 41.
