Seminar Prepares Costa
Ricans For Chinese
Market
Dozens of Costa Rican
businessmen yesterday
participated in a
seminar to prepare them
for a trade mission to
China programmed for
October.
Chinese ambassador Wang
Xiaoyuan was present at
the seminar with the
objective to motivate
local businessmen to get
to know China and its
markets.
The seminar also
imparted information of
how to promote Costa
Rican products to the
Chinese. The Chinese
ambassador said that it
is fundamental to
develop a friendly
relationship and trust
between businessmen on
both sides.
The seminar was
sponsored by the Camara
de Empresas Exportadoras
de Costa Rica (CADEXO)
who is ready to help
businessmen face the
difficult challenges of
exporting to China.
Xiaoyuan said that the
Chinese market will be
primarily open to Costa
Rican coffee, banana and
pineapples and that
Costa Rica's
geographical position is
very attractive to
Chinese investors sell
their products in Costa
Rica and international
markets.
Costa Rica broke
diplomatic ties with
Taiwan on June 1 after a
63 year friendship in
favour of trade with
China.
Costa Rica exported
almost us$1 billion
dollars to China last
year and imported us$600
million dollars in
goods. |
