The
Instituto Costarricense de
Electricidad (ICE) announced
yesterday that the power cuts
for today (Saturday) will be
drastically reduced and none for
tomorrow, Sunday.

town yesterday was how can the
Instituto Costarricense de
Electricidad (ICE) manage the
country's power network when it
can't even keep to its schedule
of rotating power cuts. The
question was put to ICE's
president, Pablo Pedro Quirós,
who said that a special line was
set up so that people can call
to find out when power will be
out in their neighbourhood.

that hotel operators in the
country fear a reduction of
reservations as a result of the
power failures and the
subsequent water service cuts.
