Braulio Carrillo - Route 32 - the major San José - Limón route
will continues to be closed
until 2:00 pm today as work
crews continues to work to clear
road of debris from the
mudslides. The road will be
re-opened if the weather
permits, MOPT officials
announced early this morning.
28 Years Later, Circunvalación,
Has Yet To Be Completed
It started on October 12, 1978.
And today, it still has to be
completed. What we are referring
to is the construction of the "circunvalación"
- ring road around San José - to
eliminate the amount of traffic
to the downtown area.
Watch out for the dip. A
major break in the
concreted surface of the
recently built road that
connects Calle Central
to La Uruca can be nerve
racking for westbound
traffic the road seems
to drop away as you
travel over it. Worse at
night if one isn't aware
of the dip. And is there
a warning sign? Take a
