Regidora in Bikini Garners Support
Carolina Araya is a model and as models go, she struts her stuff on the runway.

However, this model is also a "regidora" (municipal councilor)  for the Partido Acción Ciudadana (PAC) in Cartago and has come under fire for participating in a modeling show wearing a skimpy bikini at a bar in Cartago.

The news made the headlines in the local print press and national television on Wednesday.

However, according to Carolina, she has the support of her fellow politicians and no one from the party (PAC), including leader Ottón solís, has questioned her of her private life.

Solís told the press that her (Carolina's) private life is private. And as long as she fulfills her duties and the ethical ideology of the party, we have satisfied and wish her the best in what she does. The party leader expressed his contentment with her work and that the party ethics deal with use of public funds.

"If she were using municipal money to fix her house, then we would have a problem. In this case it doesn't worry us and she can do anything she wishes with her body", said Solís.

For her part, Carolina, said she has received a number of calls from friends and family supporting her. She added that she has received calls from her party to congratulate her, including a call from the mayor of Paraíso de Cargago, who told her she is the "pride of Paraíso".
