Costa Rica To
Confiscate Private Land

San Carlos de su Madre,
Costa Rica (IP) - The
government of Costa Rica
has informed U.S.
citizens that the land
they own in Costa Rica
will become government
property as of September
1. 2007. The reason
given is that they are
strapped for money
because of snow storms
which have covered the
tourist rich mountain
top resorts.
The Costa Rican
mountains are second in
height only to the
Himalayan Mountain range
and their bright white
snow covered tops can be
seen from most of
Central America.
It can be a pleasant 85
degrees F (30 Celsius)
at the bottom and bone
chilling 27 degrees
below zero F (-30
Celsius) a few miles
away at the top. In the
past there would be 6
months of snow but
lately the snow never
seems to stop.
The government claims
that it is not going to
become communist nor
socialist and it wants
tourists to continue to
enjoy the warm
hospitality and friendly
atmosphere they are so
famous for. Folks who
have their land
confiscated will be
given vouchers which
will allow them to stay
at local resorts for
half price.
The story above is a
satire or parody. It is
entirely fictitious.
