La Fortuna Now With It's Own Fire Station

It doesn't take much for small town folk to look for an excuse for a party and La Fortuna de San Carlos has a lot to celebrate for since they now have their own fire station.

For many residents of the resort community the fire station is the fulfillment of a longing of many years.

The celebrations on the weekend began with a mass and blessings for the bomberos (firefighters). On this occasion, the bombers did not partake in the traditional dunking that is common at opening of fire stations in Costa Rica.

The La Fortuna fire station will be manned by four full time firefighters and volunteers.
