Ticos Missing In Haiti
Sends Message Home; Costa Rican Aid Team
Working With UN Mission
Costa Rican help in Haiti has arrived,
combing residential areas hard hit by
devastating earthquake, looking of the
reported missing and possible survivors
under the rubble.
The Tico team on their first day found 10
missing in a residential area of Port Au
Prince.
The Tico mission is based at the country's
main airport and is working side by side
with United Nations workers.
The family of a Siquirres (Limón) man got
the good news over the weekend as they heard
from one of their family members missing
Haiti following the earthquake.
Eithel Rodolfo Sojo, one of four Ticos that
were missing in the Haiti earthquake, was finally able to send
his family a message that he was alive, but
living in the worst of condition, lack of
fresh water and food.
Sojo sent a text message to a friend in
Costa Rica describing the condition he is
living on a boat docked at the Port Au
Prince docks.
The other, Francisco Rodríguez Leitón, of El
Tejar del Guarco, was able to contact his
family on Friday, letting them know that he
was alive.
