2010 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
Laura Drops, While Opponents Gain Ground In The Polls

Presidential candidate Laura Chinchilla has shown any worry since the latest poll shows she has lost a few points in her support, while her opponents have been gaining ground.

A poll by Unimer for the La Nación on Saturday shows that Chinchilla's support had dropped to 40.9% from last month's 43.1, while Otto Guevara climbed to 31.4% and Ottón Solís to 13.7%.

The Liberación candidate says that she is confident that she will win the February 7 elections in the first round.

"The only poll that matters is that of February 7", said Chinchilla.

Otto Guevara, who has made a strong impression on voters this time around will travelling to various communities this weekend and would not comment on the Unimer poll.

The Unimer poll conducted between January 6 and 12 and took into the account the response of 1.210 Costa Ricans over the age of 18.
