Four Ticos Still
Missing In Haiti
Among the missing in Haiti following the
devastating earthquake are four Costa
Ricans, one of them a missionary worker.
The Ministerio de Relaciones Exterior (Costa
Rican foreign ministry) confirmed on
Thursday that a total of eighteen Costa
Ricans were in Haiti at the time of the
earthquake.
The majority were able to call home
immediately to family and loved ones to let
them know that they are safe, while some
others took some time to get the
communications.
The surviving 14 Costa Ricans in Haiti have
been located, one of which is already in
neighbouring Dominican Republic.
The survivors were identified as Susan
Herrera, Rodolfo Solvalbarro, Diego
Solvabarro, Henry Molina Calvo, Dunia Cruz
Hernández, Henry Molina Cruz, Ericka Molina
Cruz, Tifany Molina Cruz, Oscar Navarro
Suarez, Erick Guevara Ulloa, Hernán Aguilar
Gómez Walter Jiménez.
Carlos Wedden was transferred to the
Dominican Republic by the company he works
for.
The foreign ministry said the surviving
Costa Ricans are expected to be flown to the
Dominican Republic and then to Costa Rican
today.
