Military Accused of Crimes
BOGOTA - Colombian justice set another 7
military free, who were involved in
extrajudicial executions, for a total of 31
military released from prison.
Alejandro Ordóñez, attorney general of the
country described the releases as an
international scandal, while the relatives
of the victims announced that they will
present the case before the International
Criminal Court (ICC).
"It is a scandal for our institutions, for
the international credibility and that
entails a weak in our institutions and for
the justice administration", said Ordóñez to
a local radio station.
On Wednesday a judge of Soacha, Cundinamarca
decided to release a lieutenant colonel, a
corporal and 5 professional soldiers after
claimed expiration in the legal period of
the process. |
