Turrialba Emanating Chlorine Smell
The Turrialba volcano smelled of chlorine since yesterday.

Vocalnologists keeping an eye on the volcano that spewed ash and gases last week say the chlorine could affect animal and human life near the volcano, as the gas is toxic in concentrated levels.

Eliécer Duarte of the Observatorio Vulcanológico y Sismológico de Costa Rica (OVSICORI) said the chlorine and other gases eminating from the colossus is normal, while the Red Sismológica Nacional is recommending the use of filtered masks for anyone that climbs the volcano.

Duarte added that the national park where the volcano is located is closed off to visitors anyone in the park or near the volcano must have a good reason for being there and should make their visits short.
