Anne Slaughter Andrew
Takes Head Of US Embassy Today.
Anne Slaughter Andrew today officially
replaces Peter Cianchette as head of the
United States Embassy in San José.
Cianchette left his post in June 2009,
leaving the San José embassy without a boss
for the last six months.
Like her most recent predecessor, Anne has
no diplomatic experience, her experiences
have been in environment and alternative
energy, leaving her position a the Principal
of New Energy Nexus, LLC, that advises
companies and entrepreneurs on investments
and strategies to capitalize on the New
Energy Economy.
Anne graduated from Georgetown University
with a Bachelor of Arts and received her
Juris Doctorate from Indiana University
School of Law-Indianapolis, where she served
as Editor in-Chief of the Indiana Law
Review.
Anne is wife of Joseph Andrew, who was
National Chairman of the Democratic National
Committee (DNC) from 1999–2001, who during
the 2008 Democratic Presidential nominating
contest he was one of the first to endorse
Senator Hillary Clinton in November 2007.
However, on May 1, 2008, however, he
switched his endorsement from Clinton to
Senator Barack Obama.
