Venezuela Nixes Potential Aggression to Colombia

CARACAS - The Venezuelan Parliament approved this week an agreement rejecting the possible aggression to Colombia presented by the President of the Foreign Policy Commission Roy Daza.

The document backs denunciation of President Hugo Chavez on the use false positive by Colombia considered a serious threat to sovereignty and security in the region.

In addition, Deputy Calixto Ortega noted that the false positive is aimed at sowing evidences in the Venezuelan territory to make the people think that there are guerrillas' camps and justify the attack to this country.

Parliamentarians agreed to spread the agreement at the diplomatic representations accredited in Venezuela, to the UN organization, The Union of Southern Nations, The Organization of American States, The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America and sub-regional and national parliaments of the American continent.

The National Assembly expects to spread the referred writing in different media of national circulation and among the different news agencies.

The Venezuelan Vice President Ramon Carrizalez assured this Tuesday that if this nation is attacked the government will give resounding response.

The Venezuelan government froze its economic relations with Bogotá last July 28 for considering it a war threat for the region the fact of providing US troops with the use of seven military bases in Colombia.
