Nicaragua Readies For Chavez Visit
MANAGUA - President of the Bolivarian
Republic of Venezuela Hugo Chavez will visit
Nicaragua in the next days to sign important
agreements, said executive of ALBA Food (ALBALINISA)
Antonio Contreras on Friday.
Contreras dealt with some aspects of the
collaboration of Nicaragua with Venezuela
and highlighted that since this nation is
the granary of Central America, it has a
great potential not only for the bean and
stockbreeding areas, where they are the
leading exporters, but also for the milk
area.
He emphasized that the Bolivarian Alliance
for the Peoples of our America (ALBA)
supports and strengthens the programs
further away and it is working on five
projects that will sign President Chavez.
In the portfolio of the alliance there is an
investment of $130 billion in 2010 that are
itemized into two slaughterhouses, two milk
and one corn processing plants and their
derivatives.
The Venezuelan leader will sign those
agreements during his visit along with his
peer Daniel Ortega.
The official pointed that some sectors that
are carrying out a political campaign
against the government explained that ALBA
is not visible but producers think otherwise
because of its programs and policies of fair
trade.
The trade exchange between both countries in
these sectors closed 2009 with $136 million,
which is a number that is supposed to be
tripled in the next 12 months. |
