Venezuela Assembly on Possible Colombia
Attack
CARACAS -The Foreign Policy Commission
of the Venezuelan Assembly will be
analyzing, on Wednesday, a possible
aggression by the Colombian government,
informed Roy Daza, president of that
parliamentary instance.
Daza said on Monday they will refer to the
possible "false positive" that the Uribe
administration could prepare to justify a
conflict with the country.
According to the Assembly's website, the
deputy pointed out the Commission will mull
over such probable situation, and draw up a
document to present it before Parliament's
plenary meeting and thus agree on a related
stance.
Meanwhile, Venezuelan Vice President Ramon
Carrizalez stated yesterday that if
Venezuela is attacked, the government will
react strongly.
"We are preparing to defend our territory
not to attack, but no country ever dare
think it can hit us with impunity," affirmed
Carrizalez during an act at La Guaira port.
The also defense minister recalled that on
December 28, President Hugo Chavez denounced
the possibility of the Uribe government
carrying out a "false positive" to justify
an aggression.
The so called false positive, known as
"simulation of punishable events" in the
Venezuelan legislation, is a generalized
practice by the Colombian government and
Armed Forces to justify anything, he
