Panama Began Flu Vaccination Campaign
PANAMA - The Ministry of Health in Panama
began the vaccination campaign against A
(H1N1) flu with the application of 100. 000
doses in the first phase of a plan which
will be extended to all the country.
The vaccination began this Wednesday in the
provinces of Panama, Veragas and Los Santos
simultaneously to be continued in the rest
of the country.
In this phase the vaccine will be applied to
expectant mothers, people with chronic
diseases, health sector workers and
indigenous groups.
The second phase will began on March and 1.7
million doses will be applied to children
under five years and people over 60.
Health authorities pointed out that in
Panama, where 809 A (H1N1) flu cases has
been confirmed and 11 people have died
because of that, the vaccine is recommended
to reduce mortality. |
