Coupists Want to Kill Me, Zelaya
Tegucigalpa - Honduran Constitutional President Manuel Zelaya slammed the existence of a plan by
the de facto regime of assaulting the
Brazilian embassy in this capital to capture
and kill him.
"I warn international community there is a
plan to capture and murder me, and forensic
scientists are ready to say it was a
suicide," Zelaya told Telesur chain.
The Honduran legitimate president, who was
taken away forcibly by coup soldiers on June
28, returned by surprise to Tegucigalpa on
Monday and is now along with his family at
the Brazilian mission.
The regime of Roberto Micheletti ordered the
army and police to repress and dislodge
thousands of demonstrators who have rallied
in the nearby area of the diplomatic
headquarter to protect Zelaya.
Water, electricity and phone services were
cut off in the zone where the embassy is
located.
Gonzalez de Mello Mourao, chief of the
Central America and Caribbean department at
the Brazilian Foreign Affairs Ministry,
denounced reprisals committed by the
Honduran de facto regimen against his
country's embassy in Tegucigalpa.
UN staff achieved to enter the mission in
the last few hours to take food and water to
the president, relatives and the people who
accompany him. |
