US Incites Arms Race in South America
Caracas - The
creation of military bases in Colombia has
broken the balance, and encourages arms race
in the region to support the US military
industry, retired Venezuelan General Alberto
Muller warned on Thursday.
The expert said the US depends on the
military industry, as related expenses
account for more than 20 percent of the
Gross Domestic Product.
Interviewed by Zulia's Panorama daily on the
secret agreement for the setting up of seven
military bases in Colombia, Muller said
Washington bans its spreading.
Venezuelan President announced recently he
has decided to reinforce defense because
those bases threaten his country and the
region, and for that, he was given over 2
billion dollars in Russia.
