Latin America to Talk Food Crisis Measures
Caracas - Experts from 27 country members of the Latin
American Economic System (SELA) are studying
on Wednesday in Venezuela the regional
impact of the food crisis.
The goal of this meeting, which involves
experts from the UN Food and Agriculture
Organization (FAO) and the Latin American
and Caribbean Economic Commission (ECLAC),
is promoting national and regional food
security measures.
Raising food prices have helped boost this
crisis, and maintaining it will only lead to
soaring the poverty levels to over 10
million victims in the region. |
