ICE Remained Open On Sunday To Attend To Customers

In an unusual sight yesterday, many Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) agencies were open on Sunday to attend to cellular phone customers with problems with the unification of the cellular networks that occurred on Saturday.

ICE decided to keep most of its offices open to receive customers with problems with their cellular phone units, customers whose cellular phones did not switch over automatically.

Adolfo Marín, head of services division at ICE, says that it was difficult to say how many customers were affected, but hinted that it could be as many as 90.000.

Marín explained that the 1.5 million GSM cellular customers are now on one network.
