Cuba, Guatemala Increasing Trade
Guatemala - The aims of a
Cuba-Guatemala managerial meeting held in
this capital have been over-fulfilled
Friday, according to assessments from the island's delegation.
Cuba Commerce Chamber (CCC) director Miriam
Martinez told Prensa Latina that results
have surpassed initial expectations, not
only in imports, but also exports.
Although specific businesses were not inked
this week, due to the characteristics of the
event, the immediate future monitoring to
increase bilateral trade in several spheres
is still latent.
There are some issues to be solved, among
them maritime transportation and the
denominated bank offices, destined to
facilitate payments in bilateral trade, the
official stated.
A close possibility is to concrete
functioning of an air vessel between both
nations, operated by Cubana de Aviacion
entity.
Martinez also talked of businesses in the
making whose result is the export of Cuban
handicrafts towards Guatemala, as well as
textiles and environmental services.
She said that the Economy Ministry also
confirmed the presence of an official
delegation to the 27th Havana International
Business Fair, to be run in the Caribbean
island on November 2-7. |
