Remittances to Guatemala Dive
Guatemala - Remittances to Guatemala keep diving this
year to 9.69 percent compared to 2008.
The Bank of Guatemala (BANGUAT) says its
2008 over $2.9 billion income fell to $2.6
billion this year. Losses in August alone
netted $409.6 million, also below its July
income.
According to the experts such decline is
owed to work crisis in the US where 1.6
million Guatemalans live as illegal
immigrants.
