New Actions to End Honduras Coup
Tegucigalpa, - National Front against the coup in Honduras
will debate on new actions of resistance in
Tegucigalpa, when the people's resistance
against the June 28 military coup has
reached Saturday its 70 consecutive day of
protests.
The encounter will happen previous to a
national meeting on Sunday, in which popular
organizations and progressive parties
comprising the front will debate on new
actions to increase the fight, front leaders
announced.
During their meeting on Saturday they will
agree on the actions to take for coming
week, said union leader and general
coordinator of the front Juan Barahona.
This organization usually announces the
demonstrations and protests; when they meet
in the morning, to evade the anti-rally
police.
The National Assembly was announced on
Sunday by the Secretary General of the
Unitary Federation of Workers Israel
Salinas.
Friday's agenda on day 69 in Tegucigalpa, a
historic moment in the struggles of this
people, coincided with the 55th anniversary
of the victory of the 1954 strike against US
banana companies.
