Seizes More than 48 Tons of Drugs
CARACAS - The Venezuelan Interior and
Justice Minister, Tareck El Aissami, who
said that the security coros seized more
than 48 tons of drugs, in a report given
here Thursday.
During a meeting with news agency
correspondents, he said that the operations
developed by the police gave the result of
6,900 arrested individuals.
Police officers stopped two trucks coming
from Colombia Thursday in the most recent
operation done.
El Aissami said the vehicles were carrying
mattresses with 500 kg of marijuana in 480
panels, and reported on the capture of drug
trafficker Luis Fernando Cediel, wanted by
the US justice.
He said that this refutes the accusations of
Washington on a possible passiveness to
fight drug trafficking. |
