Season 3 To Begin In Costa Rican Paradise
On Costa Rica's Gold Coast, time has created
a beach made up of millions of tiny shells
that have been crushed into sand. Just north
of Guanacaste province on the shores of the
Pacific Ocean sits Playa Conchal, one of the
most luxurious and exotic beaches in that
part of the world.
On that edge of that beach are the steps up
to the Paradisus Playa Conchal, a 2,400 acre
resort that will play home to the first stop
on Season 3 of the Latin American Poker
Tour.
PokerStars is now running satellites to LAPT
Playa Conchal. For as little as $2.22 or 250
Frequent Player points, players can win a
$6,000 package. That's a buy-in to the main
event, all-inclusive accommodations, and
money for the plane ride there.
And what's there? Well, this for starters.
Seasons 1 and 2 of the LAPT hosted the Costa
Rica event in the big city environs of San
Jose. Now, the event is moving west to the
beach and the big resort--home to fantastic
golf, snorkeling, and just about anything
else you could want.
Last year, American Ryan Fee traveled to San
Jose and took down the $285,773 in Season
2's first event. After that, the LAPT
bounced across Latin America to ports of
call in Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina. In
all, Season 2 players won $4,045,350.
The LAPT will be announcing more dates and
cities soon, but for now we're just a month
out from the first big event, LAPT Playa
Conchal. The event will kick off with one of
PokerStars' signature welcome parties on
November 18, followed by a four-day
tournament November 19-22.
