Zelaya Reveals Plan to Extend the Coup

TEGUCIGALPA - Constitutional Honduras President, Manuel Zelaya, alerted Wednesday the international community about the existence of a coupist plan to extend their stay in power.

Zelaya also demanded the OAS mission now in Honduras, not to fall into the trap of the de facto regime's chief, Roberto Micheletti, who is trying to stay in power more than 100 days.

The legitimate head of State declared he is in favor of the dialogue to resolve the crisis, but also expressed his suspicion about the real intentions of those who usurped the government.

"Micheletti had forgotten the San Jose agreement and he pretends through ploys to stage another plot to extend his power and to avoid the people's and the international community's mandates", denounced Zelaya.

He also remembered the agreement set out as first point his reinstatement saying: "that must be effective before October 15 to celebrate the elections next November 29."

Delegations of the legitimate government and the putschits will meet Wednesday here before the OAS mission that is trying to find a pacific way out to the crisis after the coup of last June 28.

Juan Barahona, representative of the National Front against the Coup, member of the delegation, asserted the solution to the conflict goes inexorably by Zelaya's restitution in government.
