Jet Ski
Service In Jacó Saving Lives On The Beach
As the local people of Costa Rica,
particularly in playa de Jacó are aware and
tourists later find out, there is no
lifeguards’ service readily available on the
beaches of Costa Rica should someone run
into danger while enjoying a day on the
beach.
The Copacabana Hotel and Suites in Jacó is
doing their part to ensure that the beaches
of Jacó have some protection to those that
venture out into the Pacific Ocean.
For the safety of their guests and the
safety of the community of Jacó, the
Copacabana places a Jet Ski just off the
beach to be used for rescuing those that
need help.
As a matter of fact, within the last year,
the staff at the Copacabana has saved over
50 lives - an average of one a week - by
coming to the rescue of those that were in
trouble. More recently, 6 people were saved
in one single month.
In some cases and in other areas of Jacó,
the police will offer their support to
rescue someone by boat or often by
contacting the staff at the Copacabana to
attempt a rescue. At other times, the staff
at the Copacabana takes it upon themselves
to make sure if someone is in trouble in the
water and they are aware of it, they will be
there to help.
The Copacabana is not compensated in any way
for this service, it’s their way of helping
the community of Jacó and as such, the
Copacabana and its staff need a warm
congratulations for their superb work in
saving lives..
